As Red October begins for the Philadelphia Phillies this Saturday, it’s time to make my predictions. The Phillies got a bye week in the wild card round, but now is the time to play ball. The defending champions the LA Dodgers will play the Phillies in the NLDS after beating the Cincinnati Reds in the Wild Card. The Dodgers are a outstanding team on paper led by two-way threat Shohei Ohtani who happens to be starting game one for the Dodgers. His pitching opponent in game one will be Christopher Sanchez. I believe that whoever wins game one will win the series. The winner will get confidence and get hot for the rest of the series. This game will be won by the Phillies through excellent hitting and run scoring. Shohei Ohtani is an ace, but he has not started many games this season and the games he did start he only lasted a few innings. Where as for the Phillies Christopher Sanchez can pitch for many innings and if not we can put in Walker Buehler and Taijuan Walker in the bullpen who have both been starters in the past and can pitch for a few innings out of the bullpen. As for runs, the Phillies have been hot recently, Kyle Schwarber has been on a home run rampage recently and I expect that to continue. In fact the whole team has been getting lots of home runs recently and I expect the Phillies to hit the ball out of the yard tons when Shohei gets pulled. I strongly believe the Phillies will dominate in game one and their hitting momentum continues. In game 2, things will be very close and very high scoring, if Aaron Nola starts it could be a stressful game. In his last start he looked great and back to his old self, but this whole he has struggled with injuries and has been nothing but, bad. I believe it will come down to outscoring the Dodgers, with how hot they have been hitting I don’t think it would be a problem. If the Phillies can win game one and game two I would count on us winning the series within the 5 games. I can’t wait for these game to begin. GO PHILLIES!
