Finals prediction 2026

The 2026 NBA Finals is about to start, the San Antonio Spurs again the New York Knicks. The Spurs were the number two seed in the Western Conference and the Knicks are the third seed Eastern Conference. Fun fact about the Finals, Jeremy Sochan, started the season non the Spurs, was released and is now on the Knicks meaning win of loss, he gets a ring either way. The Knicks have been hot winning their last 11 games in the playoffs, but the Spurs have a 7’5 center from France that is only 22 year old and just won his first defensive player of the year and being a MVP finalist. I am going to be real here, the Spurs will end this hot streak and win this series 4-2 and here’s why, Spurs center Victor Wembanyama is so talented from everywhere including behind the three point arc, Knicks center Mitchell Robinson is a great interior defender, but perimeter, not has much, having Victor Wembanyama on the three point line, will not only, use Robinson weakness but also get the Knicks best paint defender out of the paint, and coach Mitch Johnson knows that and will use this to his advance, and if the Knicks ever adjust to a zone defense, such as a 2-3, that will leave other stars on the Spurs like Dylan Harper, Stephon Castle and De’Aaron Fox to shoot their way to victory. The Knicks have great defenders like Mikal Bridges (fun fact, he has the longest streak of games played in the league), OG Anunoby and Mitchell Robinson, but they can’t compete with the Spurs offense for 4 games. I do think the Knicks will win two, Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns are great players and will not get swept and the defense can hold to win 2, but I don’t see them winning. The scary thing about the Spurs is Victor Wembanyama is only 22, Dylan Harper is 20 and Stephon Castle is only 21, this may be the first of many.
